CEDAR Audio Ltd develops products and algorithms that use state-of-the-art digital signal processing (DSP) techniques to provide unique solutions for the film & TV industries, audio forensics and security, and other professional audio applications. We deploy our algorithms across a range of hardware and software platforms and we are seeking to recruit a Software Engineer to increase the capacity of our R&D department just outside Cambridge.
The principal responsibility of the Software Engineer will be to implement the algorithms developed by the company's researchers as efficient, high reliability code on a variety of platforms. This is a potentially broad role with flexibility to suit the skills of the successful candidate. The platforms we target include Windows, Mac OS and embedded systems; the main language used is C++, but the role will also require the use of C on occasion.
design and coding of real-time software using C++ a working knowledge of Python a sound understanding of mathematical notation and terminology
firmware design and coding for embedded systems, e.g. using ARM processors firmware design and coding for dedicated DSP chips FPGA design (preferably Xilinx/VHDL)
a knowledge of audio, perhaps from a musician's, audio engineer's or hi-fi perspective
