We currently have vacancies for a sales manager, a software engineer and a social media specialist.

All three roles are based at our premises just outside Cambridge and, although some home working will be possible following induction, applicants should be within sensible daily commuting distance of our offices.


Sales Manager

Due to retirement, we are looking for a confident, autonomous sales manager to lead our commercial activities in both the broadcast/entertainment and forensic/security sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • supporting and further developing our international dealer networks
  • organising and attending tradeshows and conferences at home and abroad
  • negotiating and concluding sales
  • supporting and guiding other staff members

The job will involve international travel, and will require audio knowledge and technical proficiency as well as the ability to negotiate sales with anyone ranging from individuals to government bodies. The successful candidate will also contribute actively to the company’s commercial planning and long-term strategies.


Essential skills and experience include:
  • Sales management experience
  • Financial skills as required for sales management and reporting
  • Office computer skills – primarily Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • An ability to focus on detail as well as the ‘big picture’
  • Audio skills – preferably in professional audio and/or audio forensics

Software Engineer

CEDAR Audio Ltd develops products and algorithms that use state-of-the-art digital signal processing (DSP) techniques to provide unique solutions for the film & TV industries, audio forensics and security, and other professional audio applications. We deploy our algorithms across a range of hardware and software platforms and we are seeking to recruit a Software Engineer to increase the capacity of our R&D department just outside Cambridge.

The principal responsibility of the Software Engineer will be to implement the algorithms developed by the company's researchers as efficient, high reliability code on a variety of platforms. This is a potentially broad role with flexibility to suit the skills of the successful candidate. The platforms we target include Windows, Mac OS and embedded systems; the main language used is C++, but the role will also require the use of C on occasion.


Essential skills and experience:
  • design and coding of real-time software using C++
  • a working knowledge of Python
  • a sound understanding of mathematical notation and terminology
Additional useful skills and experience may include:
  • firmware design and coding for embedded systems, e.g. using ARM processors
  • firmware design and coding for dedicated DSP chips
  • FPGA design (preferably Xilinx/VHDL)
Other desirable interest and/or experience includes:
  • a knowledge of audio, perhaps from a musician's, audio engineer's or hi-fi perspective

Social Media Specialist

We are looking for an experienced and creative social media specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media and web strategies to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts.


Job duties and responsibilities:
  • Developing, implementing and managing creative and engaging social media and web strategies
  • Managing the day-to-day handling of all our social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
  • Overseeing, planning and delivering content across social media platforms, optimising the company’s pages within each and using scheduling tools where appropriate
  • Working with in-house copywriters and graphic designers to ensure that our content is informative and appealing, and developing the on-line content including contributions to text, graphics and video preparation
  • Contributing to the development, launch and management of campaigns that promote our brand
  • Creating editorial calendars
  • Staying up to date with the latest social media and web best practices and technologies
  • Responding to social media posts and developing discussions
  • Monitoring, tracking, analysing and reporting on performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights, and reporting upon the success of our social media and web campaigns
  • Researching and evaluating the latest trends and techniques, and recommending improvements to increase performance
  • Monitoring SEO and user engagement and suggesting content optimisation
  • Collaborating with the commercial team
Essential skills and experience:
  • Three or more years of social media experience including planning and managing content in a corporate or agency setting
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media
  • Excellent content creation skills for text, graphics and video production
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A B.Sc in marketing or a relevant field
Additional useful skills and experience may include:
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing
  • A good understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • A good understanding of social media KPIs
