CEDAR Audio is the world's leading manufacturer of audio restoration hardware and software, with a long history of supplying systems to the world's audio archives. NOA Audio Solutions provides the most advanced software and hardware tools for digitising and managing archive audio. So it was perhaps inevitable that the two companies would collaborate on an advanced audio restoration system configured specifically for archives and libraries. This has been created to provide a processing environment that perfectly complements an archive's workflow for access copies while retaining the highest standards of processing. Indeed, CEDAR's existing users would not even recognise these processes, which forego the company's traditional real-time interfaces for a new approach based upon NOA's proprietary CLIP processor.
CEDAR Declick for NOA removes clicks and many instances of crackle from damaged audio without introducing unwanted side-effects or artefacts. It automatically identifies and corrects a wide range of impulsive noise durations and amplitudes, which makes it ideal for any environment where it will be used to process large numbers of tracks with no user intervention.
CEDAR Dehiss for NOA determines the noise content of a recording and reduces it with minimal loss of high frequencies and without the introduction of unwanted artefacts. It is also tolerant of changing signal conditions, which again makes it ideal for any environment where it will be used to process large numbers of tracks with little or no user intervention.
Both products will be available immediately following the AES Convention in Amsterdam in May 2008, and will be available through both companies' appointed dealer networks.
