8 March 2007

Global Security Asia addresses the fundamental aspects of global terrorism, creating opportunities for government and commercial organisations to interact and discuss the use of state of the art technologies and equipment to combat terrorism. The 3-day conference gathers international industry experts and speakers from the government and various key industries in security, surveillance and intelligence to share experiences, knowledge and expertise. Exhibitors will showcase the latest technologies in these areas. VIP Delegations will comprise Ministers, Chiefs of Services and Heads of Organisations from the Asia Pacific Region.

The exhibition: Singapore Expo, 27 - 29 March 2007

Exhibiting on stand No. 110, CEDAR Forensic will be showing the latest version of the CEDAR Cambridge Forensic System. This will host the full complement of adaptive filters, noise reduction modules and other processes that make it the premier workstation for improving the quality and intelligibility of surveillance recordings and other forensic audio.

The seminar: Forensic Audio - Noise Removal, Signal Processing & Speech Enhancement

Held at the Singapore Expo at 10am on 27 March, the seminar will concentrate on real world techniques for cleaning up poor quality covert recordings. Alan French (the Senior Audio Forensic Consultant and Forensic Manager at CEDAR Audio) will discuss what types of processes are suitable for given types of recordings and how they may be applied to achieve optimum results.

With more than twenty years experience (thirteen as a Technical Officer at the London Metropolitan Police Forensic Audio Laboratory) Alan is a recognised expert in the field of audio forensic investigation. An expert courtroom witness, he has dealt with thousands of criminal and civil cases, and has received Police Awards for his work. He has been instrumental in the introduction of some widely-used enhancement techniques, many based on the emergence of CEDAR Audio's restoration and speech enhancement technology, and has trained numerous police and security personnel in the arts of making good quality recordings, specifically in relation to their requirements for undercover recordings.
