John Lennon's 'Imagine' is restored using CEDAR

Imagine cleaned up by CEDAR Audio

19 May 2000

Parlophone has released a restored and remixed version of Imagine to commemorate the 20th anniversary of John Lennon's death.

At the end of 1999, Yoko Ono supervised a month-long project to clean and remix the original 8-track master tapes at Abbey Road Studios. Because Lennon recorded the album at his home studio in Berkshire, the tapes - while in good condition - were not of the highest audio quality. Consequently, Abbey Road's CEDAR for Windows system was used to remove noise from individual tracks prior to remixing.

The work performed by Peter Cobbin.
