In the first presentation, Neven Smolcic and Marko Angelski will discuss Audiopedia, a user-friendly library application for the editing, storage and preservation of audio recordings and their associated graphics and text information.
The system is currently being used (with the support of the Slovenian Ministry of Culture) to digitise tapes from the period 1973 - 1986, and the transferred tracks will then be restored using CEDAR. It will also be used as a library of musical sound recordings of young artists and their teachers at the Conservatory.
After this, Gordon Reid, the Managing Director of CEDAR Audio Ltd, will present CEDAR's latest audio restoration and speech enhancement technologies.
Over the course of three seminars, he will introduce attendees to the use of dialogue noise suppression in post, broadcast and live sound, then discuss and demonstrate the power of the CEDAR Cambridge Server system in libraries and archives, ending with an in-depth seminar on the use of speech enhancement in the fields of security and audio forensics.
The event will conclude with a performance by students of the Conservatory of Music and Ballet who received the top awards at the recent National Competition for Young Musicians of the Republic of Slovenia.
